Why insulated?

Rails are main parts of the rail tracks. They lead the train and transfer the pressure of the wheels to the sleepers. It must have a continuous smooth surface with minimum resistance. Currently in the electrified railways or automatic block zone the two rails double as signal lines of track circuits and loop line for locomotive traction. So rails must be insulated in case of stray current interference. Usually insulators and insulated rail joints are used in rail tracks.

The rail insulator, also called rail nylon insulator, rail insulator pad, which provide electrical insulation and protect the ductile iron shoulder from abrasion by direct contact with the rail. Generally they are installed between sole plate and rail, lead the forces introduced into the rail by train in the concrete. In this way, the screw-dowel combinations are not loaded by shearing and bending forces. The material is Nylon-6 or Nylon-66 (PA66) with 20%-35% glass fiber reinforcement varying with different specifications.

Nowadays, SKL clip fastening systems are widely used fastening systems worldwide. The Wfp Angle Guide Plate which is components from the W series fastening systems, are also used widely in worldwide railway lines. 

Kunshan ALEX manufactures different sizes of Wfp angle guide plates for different W series railway fastening systems(such as SKL1, SKL12, SKL14, SKL21 systems, and System336,etc ), according to DIN EN standard.  The Wfp angle guide plates are available in natural colors or as per customers’ request.
